Tier 2 · Renewal Leadership

Formation,
not just information.

Start with a Discovery Conversation

Formation for leaders ready to be formed — not just informed. One program. Three formats.

Most leadership development stops at information. Frameworks, books, content, another conference. Information transfers ideas. Formation shapes people.

Formation Engagement is where character is built, conviction is tested, and capacity is shaped — in whichever format fits who needs to be in the room with the leader being formed.

One program. Three formats.

Same core. Different rooms.

The Faithful Leadership convictions, the three mechanisms of character, the Leadership Compass at close — identical across every format. What changes is who is in the room with the leader being formed. That changes which toolkit gets the most weight.

Format One · Solo

Formed in private.

One leader. Twelve months. Monthly 1:1.

A private formation engagement shaped around one leader. Walks the shared ten-step Formation core 1:1, paced to the leader’s actual current pressure. Extended time at the front (identity work) and the back (integration and runway), with roughly 60–70% of each session given to custom case work tied to the decisions the leader is carrying that week.

Format Two · Team

Formed together.

One intact team. Twelve months. Workshop plus integration.

The shared ten-step Formation core walked by one organization’s intact team across twelve months. Monthly workshops alternating with integration sessions. The full GiANT 5 Voices for Teams curriculum integrated at the team-leadership steps; identity, calling, and self-leadership work threaded through. Applied directly to the team’s actual shared work.

Format Three · Cohort

Formed among peers.

A small company of leaders. Ten months. Whole-person.

A whole-person formation experience for four to eight leaders drawn from different organizations and sectors. Two in-person intensives in Central Virginia anchor the arc; virtual workshops and peer circles carry the months between. Public name: The Renewal Cohort.

Choosing the format

  • Privacy and depth shaped around you? Solo.
  • An intact team formed together around its actual work? Team.
  • Formed alongside peers from outside your organization, with whole-person work as the frame? Cohort.
The shared core

What every format builds.

Across Solo, Team, and Cohort, three things are non-negotiable. They are what make the work formation, not curriculum delivery.

The four convictions

Faithful Leadership is alignment over time, under pressure.

  • Aligned with conviction.Leading from a center that does not move with the season.
  • Anchored in character.Where the leader stops proving leadership and starts being formed as one.
  • Consistent over time. What sustains leadership across long arcs without burning the leader out.
  • Capable of enduring under pressure. What protects the leader when stakes are high and the timeline is unforgiving.

The three mechanisms

How character is actually built.

  • Accountable relationships. The structural relationships where honesty is required, and the two or three people who know the leader well enough to tell the truth. Both kinds matter.
  • The value of failure.Failures form in ways successes cannot. The losses teach what the wins conceal.
  • Hardship.Hardship forms what comfort cannot. Real character requires real time and real cost.

The named close

Every format ends with the Leadership Compass.

A short, returnable artifact.

Identity and calling as true north. Rhythms and practices as bearings. The leadership toolkit and multiplication plan as points to navigate by. Built to be pulled out under pressure. Short enough to re-read in ten minutes.

What surfaces in the work

The material that actually surfaces.

Across every format, formation work happens in the leader’s actual pressure. Curriculum is the core, not the whole. Coaching is what turns curriculum into formation.

Voice under pressure.

Where the leader’s voice carries weight, where it disappears, and what activates the pattern that mutes it. Recognition before adjustment.

Default codes.

The pattern the leader, or the team, defaults to when pressure rises. Named kindly. Worked deliberately.

Accountable relationships.

Both the structural relationships and the two or three people with honest access. Protected. Stewarded.

Kryptonite.

The pattern of self-undermining that most reliably costs the leader something they did not intend to spend. Surfaced, not shamed.

The four Faithful Leadership convictions — as they apply to your specific season.

Not introduced as theory. Surfaced where the leader’s current pressure is testing whichever conviction is doing the most work right now.

Who this is for

Leaders ready for the work. Not the sprint.

Formation Engagement assumes the leader has directional clarity and is ready for the slower, deeper work. The format follows from who needs to be in the room.

A founder or senior leader carrying acute, private pressure.

Wants depth and privacy shaped around the leader’s actual current work. The Solo format fits.

A leadership team ready to invest a year in being formed together.

Wants shared language, real trust, and the convictions threaded into how the team actually operates. The Team format fits.

A leader hungry to be formed alongside peers from outside their world.

Wants whole-person formation and a company of peers across sectors. The Cohort format fits.

Investment

Same work. Three vehicles.

Pricing reflects who is in the room. The shared core costs the same; the delivery cost is what differs — private 1:1, intact team, or company of peers.

Bundle Credit

Tier 1 Align Intensive credit applies to Solo and Team if completed within 60 days. Cohort: 1–2 partial-scholarship seats per run.

Tier 2 is formation. It is also part of a larger arc.

Many leaders enter Formation Engagement directly. Others arrive after a Tier 1 Align Intensive has surfaced the formation work that needs a season of its own. Some step from Formation Engagement into a Tier 3 Strengthening Partnership when the work has shifted from a season to an ongoing rhythm. The arc is composable — step in at the depth that fits the moment.
