Tier 2 · The Renewal Cohort

Formation,
among peers.

Begin with a Discovery Conversation

A ten-month, whole-person formation cohort for leaders who want to be formed — not just informed — alongside a small company of peers.

The leaders who actually endure are formed, not merely informed. Their conviction has been tested, their capacity built, their character shaped in real conditions — alongside people who knew them well enough to tell the truth.

The Cohort holds the same depth as our private Formation Engagement, in a different vehicle: a company of leaders from different organizations and sectors, formed together across a single arc. The widest, most accessible door into the practice.

How the Cohort Works

Five rhythms. One arc.

Across ten months, the cohort moves through five recurring components — two anchored by in-person intensives, the rest carried month to month.

Two in-person intensives — each a day and a half.

A launch intensive (Month 1) and a mid-point renewal retreat (Month 6), both held in Central Virginia. One full day plus a half day — enough for real depth without a two-night commitment. Each carries an optional, informal rest-and-play extension; the core work stays inside the day and a half, so the extension is yours to take or skip.

Monthly workshops.

A facilitated virtual gathering in each month between the intensives, carrying the developmental arc steadily forward.

Peer learning circles.

Standing small groups within the cohort that meet between gatherings — accountability and honest conversation, on confidentiality.

A whole-person practices track.

Spiritual, emotional, physical, and relational practices woven through every month. The whole person is what leads.

Optional 1:1 coaching.

Available throughout for leaders who want personal formation alongside the group — and the natural bridge into deeper individual work afterward.

The Ten-Month Arc

From the inside out. Conviction, identity, calling, formation, renewal, then outward.

The arc opens with the Faithful Leadership convictions and the leader's own story, names calling, forms the self, restores at the midpoint, then turns outward to others, organization, and multiplication. In miniature, it walks the full Align → Form → Strengthen cycle inside the individual leader.

  1. 01
Faithful Leadership & Identity Foundations Launch intensive. The four Faithful Leadership convictions named as the frame — alongside background and identity work: story, formation history, and the wounds and gifts that shape how a leader actually leads. A cohort that becomes a company rather than a roster.
  2. 02
Purpose & Calling What this leader is uniquely positioned to do — and what they are not called to do. Discernment, articulation, and the honest cost-of-calling conversation.
  3. 03
Deep Self-Awareness Strengths, patterns, and blind spots. The 5 Voices assessment anchors the month, with a guided debrief.
  4. 04
Self-Leadership I: Rhythms & Focus The spiritual, physical, emotional, and relational rhythms that make sustainable leadership possible.
  5. 05
Self-Leadership II: Healing Work The interior barriers that quietly govern a leader. The month most programs skip — and the one that most determines whether a leader lasts.
  6. 06
Resilience & Renewal Mid-point renewal retreat. Restoration, resilience, and sustainability — built on the 7 Grains Care Hub whole-person framework.
  7. 07
Leading Others Trust, communication, and culture. Moving from the self to the people the leader carries.
  8. 08
Coaching & Developing Others Equipping leaders to develop leaders — and to recognize burnout early in the people they lead.
  9. 09
Organizational Leadership, Systems & Multiplication Leading at the level of the whole — and beyond it: succession, delegation, and scaling influence with the maturity to release control.
  10. 10
Integration & Activation Synthesizing the arc and naming the growth — the Leadership Compass, a returnable artifact for the next season, and a company of peers you keep.

The four Faithful Leadership convictions anchor Month 1 and thread through every month after. The 5 Voices appears as the Month 3 assessment — not the curriculum core. The broad whole-person arc is what makes the Cohort distinct from 1:1 Formation Engagement.

What You Walk Out With

The named closing deliverable is the Leadership Compass — a returnable, short-by-design artifact that captures your identity and calling as true north, your rhythms and practices as bearings, and your leadership toolkit and multiplication plan as points to navigate by. Built to be pulled out under pressure, the way a compass is.

The Renewal Leadership Thread

Four anchors. One formed life.

Four Faithful Leadership convictions thread through the whole arc — surfaced in the workshops and the peer circles. They are what distinguish formation from technical leadership development.

  • Aligned with conviction.
  • Anchored in character.
  • Consistent over time.
  • Capable of enduring under pressure.

Open, by design

The Cohort is open — leaders from different organizations, enrolling as individuals, formed cross-sector. If instead you want your own intact team formed together, privately, that is a different door.

Who This Is For

For the leader ready to be formed in company.

A sharper fit than an intensive. These are leaders who have done some clarity work — or are in transition — and now want depth, alongside peers rather than alone.

The leader who has plateaued.

Competent and established, quietly aware that the next season requires a different kind of growth than another book will provide.

The leader who is isolated.

Carrying real weight with no peers who understand it — and no one with permission to speak into their life.

The leader done with information.

Who has done the conferences and read the books, and knows the gap is not knowledge. It is formation.

Investment

One seat. A full arc.

What a seat buys: a ten-month, whole-person formation arc, two in-person intensives, a company of peers — and a leadership strategy you carry into the next season.

The Cohort is one door. There are others.

Prefer formation shaped entirely around you, in private? That is Formation Engagement. Forming your own team? Team Formation. Need clarity before depth? Begin with an Align Intensive. Not sure which fits — the short diagnostic on the homepage can point you.

Begin with a
Discovery Conversation.

The cohort is curated, not first-come — fit with the group matters. An unhurried conversation about whether this is your season, and whether this company is your fit.

Enrollment for the next cohort opens fall 2026.
